Got a bone to pick with FYAD? FAQs and the FYAD glossary!

Lengthy But Much Needed Explanations (exciting stuff, really!):

• ‘Fuck Yeah Asian Dykes’ suggests that this blog is exclusive to Asiatic Dykedom but it’s mainly a photo blog for Queer Asian women about the women we love and are attracted to. I respect and acknowledge that some people will not identify with ‘asian’, ‘queer’, ‘woman’ or ‘dyke’, and that it has an array of different meanings to different people and can be offensive.

• ‘Woman’ is used over womyn, wimmin, wom*n etc because my personal politics. I have preference for reclaiming words and changing meanings rather than anarchy of the language system. We’ll use Woman/Dyke as an umbrella term for people labelled female by default, female identified persons and those sometimes male, sometimes female persons too.

• Sometimes, as we too engage in a system of gender cues and signals, assumptions of the gender of individuals will be made as we find pics on the internet. If we are mistaken, apologies, hit us up and we’ll take down the offending post.

• Queer is a reclaimed word used as an umbrella term for same sex attraction and gender/sex diversity. It is inclusive but not exclusive to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual people, and straight-but-not-narrow. It is generally acknowledged that queer is not the preferred term for everybody.

• If your picture has appeared without your consent, message us with a link to the offending post and we’ll take it down.
