These two brave women held a public marriage ceremony in Kaosiung, Taiwan on May 15th, 2011.
Same-sex marriage still isn’t legal in Taiwan yet, but this news has brought attention to this topic after years of quiet. I greatly admire this young couple (25 and 19) for sacrificing their own privacy for more visibility in Taiwan. They even invited the President of Taiwan and the Mayor of Kaosiung City, unfortunately, neither attended their marriage.
